Lynne Duthie

GHPTP Hall of Fame Athlete

In the season of 2005/2006 after only taking up the sport of triathlon 12months prior, Lynne Duthie won an amazing 14 races in a row gaining the titles:

2006 VSSSA Victorian Schools Champion

2006 Australian Schools Triathlon Champion

2006 Victorian Elite Sprint Distance Champion

2006 Oceania Cup Junior Champion

2006 Australian Junior Triathlon Champion

It was these results that saw her selected in the Australian Junior Elite Triathlon Team for the 2006 World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

However, after contracting a virus on an overseas trip at the end of the 05/06 season, her preparation for the World Championships came to an end as she began a period of illness that meant Lynne was forced to take an extended break from the sport.

Fast forward 18months and Lynne is now fast regaining her health and 2008 will see the return of one of the most promising junior athletes this country has seen.  The GHPTP wishes her all the best and looks forward to working with her again.
